Ultherapy is a non surgical skin tightening and lifting procedure. It delivers focused ultrasound energy deep under the skin, at optimal temperature to create collagen regeneration. Ultherapy is designed to jumpstart the natural process of collagen production to stimulate new collagen, which results in a firmer, plumper and youthful appearance.
Ultherapy uses Micro-Focused Ultrasound to stimulate layers within the skin, therefore bypassing the surface of the skin. Unlike lasers, radiofrequency and surgery, it uses focussed imaging to target the right frequency at the best depths and temperature for each individual. Ultheraphy generates a thermal effect under your skin which allows your body to restart its ability to create new collagen, to tone and firm the skin.
If you are 30 years and over with mild to moderate skin laxity and not yet ready for a surgical face lift, Ultherapy could be the right treatment for you.
This treatment is also good for those wanting to prevent future skin drop and sag or if you’ve had cosmetic surgery and would like to maintain the effects.
Ultherapy is used for patients with any loose skin and wrinkles around these areas: eyes, neck, jawline, chest or jowls.
Most patients will generally only require one treatment. The treatment is designed to naturally boost your collagen production, and for some patients depending on their biological response to ultrasound energy and their natural collagen-building process, they may require future touch ups.
Time can vary between individuals and results typically last 2 years. Some patients may require yearly top ups.
You may begin to see results within 2-3 months or as long as 6 months – once your collagen production has been kick-started and collagen building begins, your results develop over this time.
Comfort levels vary from person to person. During treatment you may feel a tiny amount of energy being delivered to depths under your skin, where you will feel a heating sensation. This sensation only lasts while the ultrasound is being delivered and is an indication that the ultrasound therapy is working.
After treatment your skin will appear flushed, but this will disappear after a few hours. Some patients may feel slight swelling, tingling or tenderness, but this is only temporary. Less common is numbness or bruising to the treated area.
