PRACTICE POLICY COVID-19

Westridge Medical is working closely alongside the Queensland Government Department of Health to ensure we help protect our patients, visitors and our staff from COVID-19. Our medical practice remains open and fully functional, with the appropriate safeguards in place to ensure the safety of both our patients and our staff.

If you think you have COVID-19:

Contact reception and we will ask the following questions to decide the next step for your appointment:

  • Have you travelled overseas or interstate in the last month?

  • Have you had any direct contact with an unwell person who has travelled overseas or interstate in the last 2 weeks?

  • Are you feeling unwell?

  • Are you experiencing any of these symptoms: Fever, Cough, Shortness of Breath, Sore Throat?

Your doctor may be able to assist you with a Telehealth Appointment over the phone or via video link. Our receptionist will arrange this with you. 

If you have any serious symptoms such as difficulty breathing, call 000 for urgent medical assistance

If you are experiencing any of the following flu-like symptoms:

  • Fever

  • Cough

  • Sore Throat

  • Shortness of breath

  • Loss of smell and/or taste

Or if you have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with or is suspected of having COVID-19 in the past 14 days before getting sick, please return to your car and contact reception. 

Your safety and well being is of utmost importance to us and we need to work together to stop the spread of COVID-19.

What is a Telehealth appointment?

– You book an appointment, either online via our online booking system or over the phone with our receptionist
– Your GP will call you at your scheduled appointment time
– You will discuss your symptoms with your GP
– Your GP will advise on the treatment and/or medication required, as well as the next steps.
